About Kens Bore

Onslow Iron is one of the largest iron ore projects under development in Australia, set to unlock billions of tonnes of stranded deposits in the West Pilbara region. Underpinning the project is the innovative supply chain including modular crushers, a 150km private, dedicated haul road, and transhippers. At the Ken’s Bore Resort, we’ve set a new standard for FIFO accommodation with 45 square metres of living space – three times the size of traditional FIFO rooms – each equipped with a queen size bed, ensuite, kitchenette, big screen TV and private laundry. 

The Opportunity
As the largest global crushing contractor, we have operations across Western Australia - operating in iron ore, lithium and hard rock.

We are seeking expressions of interest from Mechanical Fitters with fixed plant crushing experience to join our team at Kens Bore. These roles are full time positions and can allow you to grow your skill set with on-site training and the opportunity to develop your career on the tools and as a leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting preventative and corrective maintenance on large scale fixed plant machinery and equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections of fixed plant assets, using inspection tools accurately to record maintenance tasks
  • Ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
  • Report through to Maintenance supervisor issues that may have been found
  • Work with the Planning team to improve plant reliability
  • Identify business improvements and drive change
  • Small capital project work involving commissioning

What is required:

  • Demonstrated safety commitment
  • Experience in hydraulics and fault finding
  • Proven fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, observant and diligent tradesperson, capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to carry out work instructions and directives to provide satisfactory outcomes
  • Ability to work within a team environment to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated previous experience performing maintenance duties within a crushing plant and experience on balance machines and TLO

Tickets & Licenses Required:

  • Australian or Australian recognised mechanical trade qualification
  • Current Manual C Class Drivers License (HR license desirable)
  • HRWL (DG, RB, CN, WP) (highly desirable)
  • Construction Induction Card
  • Working at Heights, Confined Space and Gas Testing (desirable)
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC)
  • Ability to meet pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening requirements.
