The Role:

Our Mount Marion Lithium operations is seeking experienced and motivated Mining Compliance Trainers to support our daily mining operations. Working an attractive 8 days on, 6 days off roster FIFO from Perth, you will play a key role in developing the capability, confidence and safety performance of our operational teams.

This is an opportunity to contribute to high-performing lithium projects in a practical, hands-on training role, working closely with operators, supervisors and site leadership.

Key responsibilities

  • Mineral Resources is seeking an experienced and motivated Mining Trainer to support our lithium mining operations. Working an attractive 8 days on, 6 days off roster, you will play a key role in developing the capability, confidence and safety performance of our operational teams.
  • This is an opportunity to contribute to high-performing lithium projects in a practical, hands-on training role, working closely with operators, supervisors and site leadership.
  • Key responsibilities
  • Deliver competency-based training and assessment for mobile plant and mining equipment operators.
  • Conduct site inductions, refresher training, verification of competency and skills-gap assessments.
  • Coach and mentor new and existing employees in safe, productive operating practices.
  • Maintain accurate training, assessment and competency records in line with site and legislative requirements.
  • Partner with operational leaders to identify training needs and support workforce development plans.
  • Participate in incident investigations and contribute to corrective actions, lessons learnt and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and reinforce MinRes values across the operation.
  • What you’ll bring
  • Demonstrated experience as a Mining Trainer, Assessor or leading hand trainer within open-pit mining.
  • Current qualifications in training and assessment, such as TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.
  • Strong operational experience on relevant mining equipment, such as excavators, haul trucks, loaders, dozers and graders.
  • Sound knowledge of mining safety systems, competency frameworks and statutory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and the ability to meet site medical and fitness-for-work requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and reinforce MinRes values across the operation.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated experience as a Mining Trainer, Assessor or leading hand trainer within open-pit mining.
  • Current qualifications in training and assessment, such as TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent.

Mt Marion is located 40km south west of Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. MinRes manages all mining activities at Mt Marion, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes (SC6 equivalent).
