The Opportunity

MinRes is seeking an experienced Mine Planning Engineer on an 8x6 FIFO roster to our Lithium Operation, Wodgina. Reporting through to the Senior Mining Engineer, play a pivotal role in optimising the weekly and daily mining sequence to ensure we are meeting our targets and utilizing our fleet to it’s potential.

You will play a key role in the improvements to our daily and weekly reporting and compliance routines, with addition in building strong relationships with our Mining Supervisors to support and respond to any Adhoc changes that could impact our productivity.

• Delivery of the Weekly and Daily Mine Plan to ensure that all teams are informed of the required safety and production outcomes.
• Track any non-compliances to the weekly plan and assist in the development of each weekly compliance presentation.
• Ensure that ore stockpiling and blending strategies required to optimise plant recovery are reflected in the weekly and daily plans, and that these plans are tracked and managed each day.
• Daily data reconciliation and consultations with the Metallurgy team and any non-conformances are escalated and resolved.
• Delivery and management of waste dumping plans in the short term to manage our environmental commitments whilst ensuring productive outcomes for the haulage and ancillary mining fleets.

What is required?

• Tertiary qualification in Mine Engineering or equivalent in related discipline
• Minimum 2-3 years post-graduate experience in mining open pit operation, with a strong understanding of mining principles and techniques.
• Proficiency in mining software and tools such as Suprac, Alastri and MaxMine is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience working within daily or weekly planning
• Previous experience in drill and blast design in hard rock operations highly desirable
• Valid C-class manual driver's license
• WA Quarry Manager Certificate of Competency (Advantageous)
