The Role

We are currently wanting to hear from experienced Safety Advisors, for various opportunities on our Lithium and Iron Ore mining projects. these roles are FIFO roles on 8:6 rosters.

You will be responsible for ensuring site compliance with the relevant OHS and Environmental legislation, Australian Standards, and client OHS and Environmental requirements on site. The position co-ordinates and participates in safety and environment audits and inspections activities in order to help continuously improve, maintain and implement better and more user friendly operating systems on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the daily pre-start safety awareness meetings and the weekly toolbox meetings;
• Ensure that all areas and equipment is safe and without risk to health and safety;
• Assess and evaluate work procedures and environments to identify potential hazards and eliminate them or ensure that adequate controls are in place;
• Immediately report and assist in investigations of any incident or near miss
• Respond to emergencies on site
• Ongoing management of the site Management Plans, including facilitating training and training exercises
• Conducting formal Alcohol and Drug testing on site if competent to do so and as required
• Regularly review the site specific Safety Management Plans for required amendments
• Conduct site specific inductions and training as required
• Conduct audits and workplace inspections as required

About you

• Professional qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (Cert IV is the minimum requirement);
• Current Australian C Class driver's license
• Current Apply First Aid Certificate
• Auditing certificate
• ICAM Investigations
