The Opportunity 

MinRes is seeking applications for an experienced GP Nurse (RN) to work in a in house GP Clinic based in Osborne Park. The position is a full-time role or job share opportunity, working a Monday – Friday roster. The Registered Nurse will deliver quality care to employees, working closely with the General Practitioner. You will play an integral part that facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care, whilst demonstrating a positive commitment to Regulations, Acts and Policies relevant to nursing including the Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Standards for Practice for Nurses.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Manage vaccination programs in conjunction with GP
  • Competently assess and triage low acuity walk in patient presentations
  • Discuss basic blood test results with patients
  • Assisting GP with minor procedures
  • General health checks and preventative health advice
  • Ability to manage patient recalls – preventative health and results
  • Efficient user of Best Practice Software, PRODA and Onelink
  • Managing and ordering of stocked medications and inventory
  • Experience overviewing policies and procedures to ensure best standards of care are met.

What is required? 

  • Registered Nurse with unrestricted AHPRA registration (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency)
  • Current BLS or ALS1 desirable
  • Experience with GP nursing
  • Skills in general health checks and preventative health
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical governance, safety and quality requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Past exposure to GP accreditation process desirable
  • Passionate about patient advocacy and evidence-based practice
  • Additional experience in hospital/ ED/urgent care nursing looked upon favourably.
  • Comfortable being first responder in occasional emergency scenarios within the building.
